(Palma de Mallorca, 1975) Degree on Business Administration from the University of the Balearic Islands in 2001 and PhD in Economics from the University Jaume I of Castelló in 2010.
He joined the UIB in 2001 and is Senior Lecturer in the area of Economic Finance and Accounting of Department of Business Economics.
He has taught in the Degree in Business Administration, in the Degree in Tourism, in the double degree in Economics and Tourism, in the double degree in Business Administration and Law and in the Master's Degree in Accounting and Auditing. In these studies, he has been the tutor of more than 100 final degree projects and more than 25 final master's thesis. He is currently the director of several doctoral students in the doctoral program in Tourism at the UIB and in the Doctorate program in Law, Economics and Business at the University of Girona.
He is member the research group Models for Information Processing. Fuzzy Information. (MOTIBO), and is a collaborator in the group Economic and accounting aspects of social economy entities, non-profit entities and tourism sector entities, both from the UIB. He develops his research activity in several fields, among which the analysis of tourism companies, banking efficiency, the analysis of non-profit entities, bibliometric studies, the analysis of balance sheets using compositional data analysis (CoDA), and the application of fuzzy techniques for uncertainty analysis. He has completed research stages in the University of Barcelona (2008) and in the University of Chile (2017).
He regularly participates in outreach activities organized by the Ilustre Colegio de Ecomomistas de las Islas Baleares, by the Asociación Española de Expertos Científicos en Turismo (AECIT) and by the Asociación Española de Profesores Universitarios de Contabilidad (ASEPUC).
He has developed university management projects, such as the coordination of several postgraduate programs at the UIB, the organization of conferences and the participation in scientific committees. Since 2017 he is Secretary of the Academic Committe for PhD studies in Tourism at the UIB. Since 2020 he is also the National Secretary of the AECIT.
